I point my hammock to the sun

I point my hammock to the sun.
Warming light balances cooling wind.
As our rooster proclaims his opinions repeatedly,
The donkey, nerd with sinus trouble, nasally
responds with non sequitur.
Bees spiral upward in their gyre, scatter
outwardly then rein themselves back in again
later with their bounty.
Early plants start from the soil
like young kids in their first days of school.

I fall asleep as Nancy our goat eats my wife's favorite plant.

I loved this! Hammocks, farm animals, growth - so much to love!

I enjoyed the opening line "point my hammock to the sun" since that is the beauty of a hammock: there is nothing baring us from the sun when using them. The whole piece has a comforting peace about it, like the wonderful feeling of basking in the exhaustion after a hard day's work.

I like the mood you are trying to set with the use of "nerd" to describe the donkey, but I feel it negatively enhanced your voice in a way that made me stop and reread.

You have to meet this donkey. He really sounds this way.

Such pure pastoral bliss irritates me. I was hoping for a Tatar vanguard to make an appearance and salt the earth.

yeah, usually this kind of thing would irritate me too, but it's in fun so it's safe. I needed a relaxing day. Deal.
