My current project (because I need goals in order to keep writing) is a group of poems inspired by films. The first list of films (because I'm all about lists too) is all of the winners for Best Picture since 1929 according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Thank you in advance for being able to be a part of this community.
Hi, welcome to the pen. Interesting idea, for the film watching and the motivation. Good luck with it, hope you enjoy and make good use of the site.

Thank you. I look forward to it!

Welcome, matey. Feedback from family/friends et. al. is a perennial problem. They don't want to offend you. And we all like having our ears tickled. Therein lies the rub.

My experience so far is that other posters will constructively tell it how it is. And that's good.

 Cheers.

Thanks John. Can't wait to get started!

Hello, everyone!I stumbled upon this website by accident, and I am rather glad that I did. I've been looking for websites to supplement the critiques/feedback I receive on Deviantart since I'm out of the classroom workshop setting. A little about myself:

My name it Matt. I'm twenty five years old, and I was born in the near 600 square mile nursing home that is Hernando County, Florida. I graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in Creative Writing back in 2012. I've been published twice, once in Mouse Tales Press and once in Ink, Sweat & Tears. I currently work for Pasco-Hernando Community College as a Developmental Education Teaching Assistant and writing specialist.

I look forward working with the lot of you and hope that my feedback will assist the writers it applies to. Cheer!

Hi, my name is HardScotch, but you can just call me Scotch. I'm an older gentlemen whom has just rediscovered poetry in a major way. I was playing a video game and the poetry within this video game inspired me to try reach out to any poetry related community where i can hopefully start writing some inspiring poems of my own. I just simply googled poetry forum, and the pig pen popped right out at me. Any way if your wondering about the poem that inspired me, its from the video game Final Fantasy Crisis Core, Loveless. Anyway i wont be posting stuff right away, i like to put some thought into my work, but i would like to say hi to the community =D

Welcome, Scotch. I don't use the term 'older gentleman.' I still think of myself as a growing lad.
You'll get plenty of help and inspiration here.

 Cheers.

			The Odezilla Poet's Camp Unregistered

		Greetings all,
For I am of the Odezilla Poet's Camp - yes judging by my name - I somewhat enjoy writing odes and reading odes - and the zilla - yes you're talking to a Godzilla aficionado
I am probably the worst poet yet - probably worst than Mcgonnagal - and the fact I am still trying yet to figure out verses, the difference between the sonnets and well limericks, free verses and such ...

Even though I never took up literature in high school and University - I dunno why BUT I just picked up writing poetry when I just finished high-school ... but then due to discouragement from peers I kept off it until last year I found some of the first poems I wrote and I took it from there ...

I mainly write LONG POEMS (so at the very least 1-2000 words or so) and the longest yet poem I've written is also called Odezilla II - and it spans 23K words - not the longest poem in the world - and I dunno if anyone's written a similar sized poem specifically on Godzilla - but probably not as good as anyone else's poems but reading the rules I must post some comments and insightful feedback first ...

And yes I love Godzilla - been watching him since 2 years old
And let's see ... I write poems also on Godzilla, Dinosaurs, Star Wars but I am happy to take up requests ...

Next year I'm writing a BIGGER poem on Godzilla - up to 40-60K words and in 2018? When Godzilla 2 is out? Up to 100K words ... yes every year when a Godzilla film is released - so in 2016 with Japan - I will write a BIGGER poem on Godzilla until then ...

Well enough of my ranting eh? I must be already boring you all to death and asleep and with histrionics eh?
