I can't stop smiling when I read this. I'm very curious as to what inspired this poem. In any case it's a great short poem. Thanks for sharing.

Ha! Well, any bloke except the one with Oedipus needs...
Love the rhythms, and I can quite easily envisage this being a favourite down at the pub.

Mark, I had been reading a lot of poems which seemed self-indulgent -- some woman banging on about some bloke who had buggered off, and it was all 'I this, and I that'...so..didn't take much . I also wrote some other 'battle of the sexes' things, quite similar really.

Ahh okay. While reading I kept having the feeling that you were having a go at more than just the female in the poem.
