We eat alot of steak and seafood, vegie's, desert's hell good bread is 12 bucks a laof here. Go through alot of spices and they are expensive as well. Mushrooms alone run us 30 bucks a week and then there is the wine to cook with. We eat good, I mean we eat what we like and consider it to be good. Not the sort that buy into all this health food crap, nothing but very good brain washing. All of the men and women on my side of the family have eaten this way for generations with the exception of the week minded few. Life expentancy in my family is anywhere from 70 to 97 years baring death by unatural causes. Tongue

yep we eat good. fresh mushrooms are way cheaper, we have loads more veg than the uk to chose from, most of it cheaper. same with the fruit though strawberrys cos a fortune here Tongue
fresh bread, 1 to 2 dollars a loaf. wines fairly cheap though i don't drink it. as is the booze. good steak is fairly cheap here. and fresh seafood too. we get salmon ray squid and those big fuck off prawns lmao. some of the spices are a bit expensive but in general they're fairly cheap also. for deserts we have ice cream or fruit lol. a bit of other stuff but not like the uk deserts. a kilo of decent meat is about$5 to & $ that includes good steak. top round sirloin etc. some can go a litle higher but if you shop around it's cheaper. pork is cheap and so is chicken. chese is about 10$ kilo. all dollars in us dollars.

all the fast foods, macs, jollybee etc are dirt cheap. cheese burger at macs less than a dollar.

today i got two loaves. freshly baked sugar free for 48 pesos. or $1
normally they're a dollar each but now and again they put them on special offer. (they were still warm)

Wow, paying almost 15 dollars a pound for a decent steak here. Thats 45 bucks for a family of 3 before the rest of the meal. You can buy cheaper ofcourse but if you eat what you like then thats the cost unless you buy in bulk as in a side of beef but frozen beef does not cook or taste the same.

the Philippines.
the fruit sounds about the same get two bottles of decent beer for a dollar Smile

you might pay 10 bucks us for the very very best steak a kilo. (2.2 pounds) the foods reasonably priced. potatos are between 1 and 2 dollars a kilo chick is about 3 dollars a kilo. we eat a lot of meat and some fish each week. for 160 bucks we get about 12 bags or more of shopping. that doesn't include soft drinks or anything except food.

rice is a buck a kilo for the decent stuff. remember the average wage here is really low. between 8 and 12 thousand pesos a month. about 150 us dollars to 200

my partner earns about 2200 dollars a month and me around about the same. (after tax.) not a lot but here we do well on it.

My income, lol, ya I won't be putting that info online but it's enough.
Chicken here is not bad i guess but i'm not sure, like 10 bucks for a small bird maybe 3Lbs, pork is expensive though and i see no reason for it. I do not really eat pork except for smoked ham and bacon. A decent ham will run 50 bucks, turkey is not cheap either @ around $3.00 per Lb. or better unless you buy frozen and even then to get it @ less than 3 bucks a Lb it's on sale.

About $60 a week. I volunteer at a local food bank which is supplied by the super markets rejects. (slightly dented cans, torn labels, a 6pk with one missing ) Since they can not sell it they give it to us.
Produce is tossed of course, unless its frozen but with a small tear in the bag..
Otherwise it would be up near $170

A neighbors coop supplies the eggs and I get free chicken to eat if I am willing to slaughter the foul for me and the neighbor. UGH. I am a part time vegetarian.
