california and weed

The legislation would allow adults 21 and older to legally possess, grow and sell marijuana. The state would charge a $50-per-ounce fee and a 9 percent tax on retail sales.

it's far from a done deal but it's a step in the right direction.

The people want their pot, and the state government desperately needs to find additional sources of revenue.
they reckon it can drag them in 1,6 bill of something like.
if it does get in it will definitely become a cash crop where people are making ten or so bucks a sold ounce and paying the 50 to tax. 60 an ounce, imagine it. they also have to allow home grown sit as well. i presume. i think if they don't get it this time round they will next time round.

arnie may even make them resit for an extra special session.

In California $50 can buy you 1/8th of 1 OZ of fairly good green
They already charge a 8.25% sales tax on EVERYTHING except food in the state.
So its not to far from fair

I don't see why it would be any different for the pot dealers.

The pot dealers will have to lower there prices drastically to compete. It is currently a very lucrative business not having to pay taxes and charging the prices they do...
Then some corporate folks (like the cigarette company's) will expand there retail market to cover the weed as well, U KNOW they will they already have the manufacturing plants for it.. It will take very little modification to process cannibus..

if the law gets passed i think you'll see farms in the area cropping it and the price should drop drastically.

I do not see why legal pot means lower prices. Just means legal pot. If people are paying 300 an ounce now then I would say they will pay 300 or more when it is legal. Just smart business. The market is already there and paying those prices so why charge less. Stands true with the tax on it as well. It's a luxury and there for I see more tax being charged on it a real possibility. You may see a drop for a short time but it won't be much if anything. JMO

i agree with benny, the reason the government thinks of legalisation is money, nothing else.

Well it's another they can tax heavily. However in a country with free healthcare you have to think if the legalisation revennue will actually be less than the health bills. Could be true for some hard drugs Confusedleepy:

Aparently you have never smoked NB hydro. Smile

In comparison, ontario hydro would be a let down. NB hydro is as good as any BC Bud that i have ever smoked. There is one strain that is in fact better than but thats just from my experience. Fellow only grows a small amount so it never leaves the province. The plant is over 20 years old. I'm no pot pro but he did some kind of strain splicing with it. Told me the strains he used but I can't remember at the moment. It is mostly bright red with alot of yellow gold and a shit load of that great sticky white stuff. Enough green for accent. The freakin buds are huge, as a mater of fact each clone matures into A bud.

basically the hash being spoke of is almost like the european resin. it's compressed to form a block, not usually as strong as the bud. as the thc has time to breakdown. the heat of comressing it also allows some of it's strength to vanish. over in europe our hash resin...block etc has been know to have
plastic in it, diesel in it and detritus of all kinds. in europe the resin or block is a lot lot cheaper than the plant. hash is also often described as the parts of the plant after that sticky bud has been removed. it's cheap and you can still get a hit. sometimes thats the part they'll compress under about 20 tons per square inch.
