Nasty Weather

And now it's winter,
winter in America-
ice covered streets,
with too many folks
stuck inside
waiting to dig out,
as nasty weather spreads
across the USA.

yah, I noticed
noticed the same thing - 
gets cold in January
cold in America
and it snows
and people shop like looters
except they pay.
In Australia it's different
'cause they are stuck,
stuck to the bottom
the bottom of the world.

This one's more about the boots-on-the-ground man-made nasty weather gripping America. It looks like winter will stay well beyond its welcome.

Hey Mark
I think you need to throw in an earthquake and a few dozen cyclones, but nasty weather works on this level, stuck in afraid of the streets, it could be a long winter. I enjoyed this cold package, and how you wrapped it.

Very effective poem I thought it was about ICE and the American political climate but I wasn't sure. I don't know if the "waiting the dig out" is a metaphor for resilience or resistance, maybe both? Anyways thanks for posting this.

I didn’t get the underlying reference at first, but it makes sense now.
