If the cat's in the kitten
and the kitten's in the cat,
and a tree falls in the kitchen,
then, why's the fly get the hat?

How do you get a cat into a kitten? Pussy I could see, well if I went to the "Y". This is why I cut down all my trees. As I am not a Haberdasher I swat flies, I do not give them hats.
Outside of those small items the poem makes perfect sense, which may or may not be an insult.

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?
The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

and, not wishing to make the poem make less sense, but i think a kitten is always in a cat, like a boy is always in a man. unless, you never step into the same river twice?

then, why's the fly get the hat? Potential to eat (or be ruled)?
But even then, things feel like tectonic plates. Which may, in the end, be a good thing.
This gave me brain drain.
is this one of them there riddles?
I must have missed this nursery rhyme in the closet.
I always liked the smell of moth balls.
