When a spider dies
nobody cries.
There're no tearful eyes
as it slowly dries.
Frozen in the moment
before becoming dead,
feet clasped in prayer,
hanging by a thread.
When a spider dies
nobody cries,
least of all,
the flies!

This is quite clever, and effective with the turn at the end. I was expecting something more... elevated there, but what you did certainly works.
But, oh, those foolish flies! For decedent's web remains, and will continue to entangle them for days if not weeks... without even the surcease of being eaten!

There was a huge banana spider hooking it's web up at night from the garage overhang to the hood of my car. I'd back out slowly and watch the web snap upwards. I'd come home and the next morning he'd be snagged to my car. After three days of this he hooked his web up to the floor next to my car, so it wouldn't snap after I'd left. When I came home though the spider was gone. The web was still there but it was gone and I never saw it again. Is it dead? Blown away? Spider in my dining room is named Nick, it can stay there as long as it likes.
