So...What Poets Inspire You?

Check out Kay Ryan! She's my newest favorite!

I'd also love to shake Robert Frost's hand...

It should it which...oh well.

will do.

i liked a bit of frost but he never really wrote the stuff i liked.

just read Houdini by her. i liked it. i'll def read a bit more of her work.

Dylan Thomas. Tennyson
coleridge. not really enamored by the modern poets. i think most of it fakery and flight of ego. some of my fave poems is If by Kipling, the charge of the light brigade by Tennyson
John Donne's for whom the bell tolls though i find it more prose than poem.
Eliot's count that day lost.
Byron's she walks in beauty

you can find many of the poems i like here under favorite poets. i'm not sure i've been inspired by another poet. i just enjoy reading them.

i know when i started writing it was all in rhyme and also archaic in style lmao. so no poets never ever inspired me as such.

me bad. i used to be in a poetry group called MOAPG, sadly it's closed now and the owner recently died. but he inspired me to write. not what content. just that i should write, and always read (which was something i did, read i mean) stephen morse his name was. one of the best poetry teachers i'ts been my pleasure to know.

It is a sad fact about our culture that a poet can earn much more money writing or talking about his art than he can by practising it.

source Smile

but yep i suppose some can, that said the ones that earn from talks and lectures have usually paid the poetry dues through writing poetry as well.
the ones who do the talks and don't write are more critic than poet in my opinion. the real truth is that it is extremly hard for tmost to make any kind of living through poetry. some do but considering how many poets are out there the percentages are really really small.
