Some Mothers do have em
#1
Sore folds, dusted talc,
mouth bubbles, gurgled out,
chubby legs, dimpled knees,
farm cheeks, need to squeeze.

Bald patch, cradle cap,
little mitts, hands clap,
changing mat, wrestling ring,
tear stained, teething ring.

Full nappy, wobble weight,
bath time, in a state,
milk bottle, Sterilise,
naked pee, past your eyes.

Jim jams, romper suite,
snuggle sniff, who’s so cute?
all clean, kissing heads,
six o’clock, into beds.

Big eyes, mobile spins,
sucking cuffs, chime begins,
wide awake, crying game,
arm in ribs, me again.

Bed head, cow lick,
one am, milky sick,
magic moments, skin on skin,
contact found, gummy grin.

High chair, food mush,
up the nose, pea push,
bib stains, washers on,
cried all day, patience gone.

Dads home, here’s your son!

congratulations...it's a baby!
I thought you had caught the essence of never-ending chores and delights of having a baby in the house well. Seems like you have covered just about all of the bits that i remember. Liked the bounce to the verse - bit like life it jogs along.
Thought this was sweet. Made me smile, thanks for the read.

AJ.

I like this. It's simple and kind of infuriatingly sweet.

one am, covered in sick, -- this line may have too many syllables, but that's really the only thing I have to say.
nice job.
I'll be there in a minute.

Thank you for the kind words, yes it's funny how the early years go so quick. Cheers K

this is a good little poem. I must confess that I kept expecting it to turn 'nasty', glad it didn't though (it's too early in the morning for reading poetry about killing babies).

Glad I didn't spoil your morning, only fresh squidgy babies here.
