Interesting VF but if not for it being attacked from almost every angle to control it, to keep people from getting information they can not get anywhere else and to prevent them from discussing it.

yes,good try,but look what's happening.
it seems to me that the negative side of the human psyche tends to float to the the top,i mean in the hiarchy

so what you mean sj is a development that points away from a totalitarian state that doesn't come under attack?
everything comes under attack even tote states. as for development...you already have voting. te right to strike. the right to boycott. new developments aren't seen because they've been around for ever. mainly the right to say enough is enough and rebel. what about the mobile phone. aid, religion, education, the right to vote. and what do you mean by totalitarian state? do you mean like russia and germany had? personally i can't see it.

well,i see several powerfull states, the most obvious being china and the usa trying by means of scare mongering[in the case of the us]to curb our personal freedoms, and i say ours because it has a knock on effect around the world.they def.trying to control the internet, trying to restrict people from freely move around their own planet etc.
ofcourse there will be always means to avoid things like this but the fact that they try points in the wrong direction
since govs began they've tried to control us.
while to some extinct they succeed, in general they fail. few govs have leaders or parties in perpetuity. for some reason someone or something kicks them up the arse for a rethink. everything changes. what seems totalitarian one day seems liberal the next. as far as china goes, in truth it's coming out of being a totalitarian state. and the usa, well of course the big boy like to bully but most western countries arent scared of telling it to fuck off if needed. i think the totalitarian state feels more close at hand because we have a global economy with ties to most other nations. it makes sense to unify certain rules. as far as the net and filesharing... it will never stop. not even if they close down the main netz. we tasted it and we likes. its our precious ![]()

The future of the internet, lol,.... Turn on your pc, watch the mainstream media news, do your online shoping and pay in advance via RFID. The one world governments branch of the internal revenue breaks in to tell you your personal carbon tax has increased and your account is in default, your credits for food and shelter have been decreasd by 15%, your personal luxury credits have been suspended till further notice. Please report to FEMA camp #3068 for reassesment.
Yes for sure there will always be a net cause we sure do love our net and there is no way anyone will ever controll our net cause there is no way that people with that kind of money power and influence could ever have people smart enough to acomplish it. Give me a break, At presant with one push of a button the net shuts down.

It is very real and is installed as a piece of actual hardware in every headend of every satilite and land line. Don't take my word for it chase it down yourself. Point is they indeed can stop us from having any access that they do not want us to have. I have no theory Bill, lol, I report facts from all over the world that are documented by compatent people everywhere. I can't help that they all point in the same direction.

some parts of the world?we're talking about 1/4 of the world population, anyway ,what they can do there can be done everywhere,i don't say it will happen, but it seems likely,a few restrictions here, a few there[ :Ganja_Smoker:]

Shutting down the internet is a loose-loose situation for everyone. You talk about "the elite" but they still need money. The internet is a huge source of revenue (it's a whole new playground in that sense). Shut it down, you loose popularity and customers.
And back on topic, most states are not totalitarian. In the present day we should consider ourselves lucky. I'd say the large majority of us lives in a safe country where they can have their opinion without any violence. Where I come from, 3 and a bit decades ago speaking your own mind would end up with you killed/arrested/deported. We complain, but things are a lot better round the world than they were. Just keep that in mind when you say there is no freedom.

I have yet to see it answered by the way but would very much like to. A thread like this leaves the topic open to what ever, even new developments in pot laws. Still, pot really leaves one unmotavated to really care about much. That leaves me thinking it may well be another evil ploy by the elite. ![]()

shutting down the internet ,no,shutting down parts that governments don't agree with, yes.
04-28-2010, 05:57 AM
do people really believe that if they shut down the net it wouldn't open somewhere else? some people would love the net to be closed so that that could be done. it's one big cash machine that will never willingly be closed.
fascists states. we've been moving away from them for the last 50 or 60 years. you only have to look at the likes of spain in the 30's and sorry but i'd like to see a source that says a quarter of world is fascist.
