Princesssly Attitudes

or

Wovon du träumst

About what you dream when you're dreaming
you brief in the mornings
over your cup o' coffee and my beer.

('The beer I had for breakfast
wasn't bad, so I had one more“ to put it Johnny Cashishly)

My mornings open up to me

like any better Blues,

Come Monday I'm down,
to get the bucks and waste them
I stumble out
into downtown.

I'll spend them on Friday again.
And on Saturday and Sunday too.

And do you know why?

You, as of recent, you freeze me,
it is hard to not feel hurt,

You know, I am starting
to think that
well-meaning people who
in the first place have no clue
but try to advise nevertheless
to me exactly as if their life would be
gone or wasted if I do not succumb
they should for mine and their better
be left outside.

Isn't that (in hindsight at least)
a bit mean?

And your princessly attitudes
do not make it any better (as you know)
and you keep on going there.
May I ask you why?
If it so much pleases you
to hurt me that way,
then by all means
keep on going for it
and then miss me
when I am dead
but still alive.

Wovon du träumst is in English: about what you dream.

I'm really sorry. I have trouble following the poem with the spacing between each stanza fluctuating, but I hope I managed. It was slightly annoying.

This stanza:

You know, I am starting
to think that
well-meaning people who
in the first place have no clue
but try to advise nevertheless
to me exactly as if their life would be
gone or wasted if I do not succumb
they should for mine and their better
be left outside.

It doesn't really flow that well, mainly due to the lack of punctuation. I don't really get how "gone or wasted if I do not succumb" connects immediately with "they should for mine and their better". I wish I can give you more comments but honestly, I found it quite hard to follow the poem. Sorry.

you don't have to be sorry. The poem is just not good.
I am serious.
I agree with you and will delete it.
It was just a rant.

so
cheers and a fine day :-)
Thanks for reading.
