today i'm make 6 quiche's for my favourite girl's sister. (addy's sister) because she's going to a pot luck (bring some food) xmas party. her mum also asked me to make some cookies, which i did, while i love cooking, i'm sort of hating doing it as a job or favour  my question is this;
are there times when you wish were really shit at something instead of being pretty good? you know what i mean, someone say's oh yeah that would be great, i'll just ask ...... to make/cook/do/get/go/bring a few. they won't mind
with me it's baking/cooking, what is it with you?

I'm lucky, I generally like doing the things I'm good at. I'm also lucky that there aren't too many of them
It's hard cooking sometimes though -- you tend to set a standard and then people expect that, when sometimes all you want is a cheese toastie...

yeah, i love cheese and ham on fresh bread. i love cooking but the fun goes out of it when it's an order. the weathers hot here as i suppose it is there to; so there's a fair bit of waiting time for the pastry to get cold etc. 6 of the bastards takes up the best part of a morning. and woe betide if it isn't top notch

Who doesn't appreciate a man that can bake?
I'm good with kids so a lot of people ask me to babysit either part-time or full-time. I love kids and I love helping people out, but I always have to rearrange everything to fit their schedule and sometimes it's all last minute. It's flattering that they trust me, but it's also a pain because I've been doing this since I was a kid. It's difficult to say no when you're being dependant on.

the only kids i'd watch would be grand kids after that, i'd sooner babysit sharks.

I can only babysit cats . I like kids, but I'd be like a total doormat.
Usually I like doing favors for others; if it's something I'm decent at then it's really no skin off my nose. I sometimes get grumpy, but only when a) I'm stressed from something else, or b) I feel like my effort is being taken for granted. A "thank you" is enough to make me happy
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

Oooh cooking, luckily I only cook curry and stirfry (I don't get asked much)! My bain is being good at "the computer".
Although I don't mind helping out, my family and friends just expect me to fix their digital woes (Oh you have something going on? just ask Ben, he's good at computers!) . This is especially true of my grandma who I spend most of the time of my visits re-telling her how to get photos off her camera, removing viruses from her puter, installing various bits of software, telling her which boxes to say yes to, etc etc....
Oh god it actually never ends
