Poetry Round Robin

If the traffic bothers you
take a right at Wednesday
there’s a tunnel just on six o’clock
to get you past the hump

If you squint, the lights will suck you up
and vortex-whip your hunger
while your drive-thru brain scatters
to half past saccharine
and nobody passed the syrup

Eat the fluorine gateau that coaxes
nine-to-five frostings
from the throats of marbled loss adjustors
drowning
downer popping dimorphs

brake

just to see the rosy glare of left-behind

it’s black again
and back to front, the world explodes
to Saturday and forty years
from where you turned

it’s almost rest
almost home
and gone
It could be worse

a smarty pants iambic strung
who gives me Tuesday rubies
ribboned up; menage de toi
spaghetti sandled plates
and limply hung liana
contemplate two ends at once
and with a shudder wipes
a sideways glance all smug
poor sad boy can't compete
of course not
he's a bloke Sad

i loved your write Big Grin

The door to Tuesday isn't far
to see the sorry poets try
for language's menage a trois.

No sense in getting la-de-da
in many tongues. I wonder why
the door to Tuesday isn't far

from back seats in a dodgem car?
Your coconuts have turned too shy
for language's menage a trois.

Two icecreams and a chocolate bar
will shut you up. As robots fly
the door to Tuesday isn't far

or fair; it's where the winners are
or want to be. Though pigs may lie,
the door to Tuesday isn't far,
for language is menage a trois.
It could be worse

Wot? 'Trois' rhyming with 'far'? Rimbaud will be turning in his boat! Wink

If Rimbaud had been Australian, he wouldn't have been such a ponce about pronunciation :p

Rimbaud was an Australian Ponce

It's the specificity that makes it work yes...maybe even:

If Rimbaud was an Australian Ponce

(it practically writes itself)

Aussie ponces are hard core -- especially compared to the French

I knew an Aussie ponce one time
who'd throw a shrimp or two.
He'd marinade himself in swan
till he was soused right through.
He'd dream of fighting crocodiles
he'd dream of Mick Dundee,
and some times when he wore his dress
he'd even dream of me.
