Definitely dementia. You're alive, but what's the point? With other diseases your body suffers, but you can fight on.

Lots of bad ones though. What about those flesh-eating diseases? I saw a TV show about this man, had a flesh-eating disease that ate away his face, leaving only a crater (sorry to be graphic)
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

apparently you get it from banging dead bodies.

the worms themselves only infect cadavers. so the people who have them have usually worked i a morgue..

i think alzthiemers is bad for everyone else but maybe not so bad for the person.

the flesh eating bug is a scary bastard.

some of the cancers are reall bad as well. theres one where they have to remove part of the throat and lower jaw to cure you.

The worst Disease I think would be Elephantiasis. We learned about this in school.

Quote:Elephantiasis is a disease that is characterized by the thickening of the skin and underlying tissues, especially in the legs, male genitals and female breasts. In some cases the disease can cause certain body parts, such as the scrotum, to swell to the size of a softball or basketball.[1] "Elephantitis" is a common mis-hearing or mis-remembering of the term, from confusing the ending -iasis (process or resulting condition) with the more commonly heard -itis (irritation or inflammation). The proper medical term is Elephantiasis,[2] and it is caused by lymphatic filariasis or podoconiosis [3].

I honestly don't know what the worst one might be but I would imagine that if you had an illness that was considered to be terminal in a high percentage of cases with little hope of recovery then that one would be the worst one for you to have. For someone to imagine which one would be the worst I think is impossible without first hand knowledge. Cancer of any type that has high death rate statistics does come to my mind though. Pancreatic or lung cancer most certainly. I would think it very hard on the people close to a person suffering from a terminal illness as well, knowing their loved one is going to die and in most cases in pain that can't be imagined. I would also think it another part of the cruelness of any of these illnesses to the person suffering from them just knowing the people they are going to leave behind are suffering great mental anguish as well. One can only speculate and I hope that none of you ever have to find out first hand.
