Guilty party

Here I lay. Or lie, or lie. Give me the truth I am due to?
Out damned erotene, why are you there, or their or they're; but you, two,
have made the miskate of laying the blame
not on the writer who wrote me:
but lay it on me for I am the poem!
I am the words and I am the rhyme,
I am the rhythm,the metre, the form:
I am the verse of my own self born;
If I am in error the error is mine;
Blame not the poet.
Sublime

i'm presuming it a grammar police poem Smile (though i could be wrong)
i'm also presuming mistake is wrong on porpise?
i checked out erotone and found nothing, i thought it meant space, but could discover if i were right or wrong.

i wouldn't or should i say can't see anything i'd change if erotene and miskate are meant to be. i enjoyed it as a nice little bit of doodling with and about spelling mistakes. and word intent

just an aside;

you name looks like it's part of the body of the poem.

thanks for the read.

Hi Billy,
Its a bit of an apologia to you which I wrote after the red letters! Yes, all spelling mistakes debilerate. Eroteme? I am glad you asked.
I have a tendency to blame the poet not the poem; but that is what I expect other critics to do with my efforts. My wife is my greatest critic, in all things, but I have tried to tell her it is not me; it is the poem speaking. This does not work.
Best,

Tectak,

Damn, and here I was already to explain it was "eroteme" misspelled. However, riddle me this Batman, "What is the etymology of said word?" It is Latin from the Greek, I am wondering if the ero root is related to "erotes" or cupid. Ero=distinction teme=thesis equal interrogative? Just how in the beejesuzu did that happen?

Question: Did you mean "sublime" as "haughty"?

Nice bit of rhyming at the end, picks up the pace?

BTW what the hell is that image suppose to be? Smile

Blame it on the Muse!?

Dale?
How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

Funny old world. Heard yesterday on a news report from Athens, post riots. A Greek financier said "...and now the economy....Europe asks....we all....erotaien..we are not knowing etc.etc". So I looked it up. It turned out the greek was speaking greek.
The image is Van Morrison...I am surprised you asked.
No.... I meant sublime as in poet!

Never was a big fan, plus I didn't realize he had started to wear a hat. Looks more like Young Goodman Brown to me! Smile

I am unable to find a picture of Van Morrison WITHOUT a hat. Are you sure you are not thinking of Van Allen? Oh...no. that was a belt not a hat.
