there are such things as torrent whores. whether they serve a purpose or not, i'm not sure. "though i lean on the side of yes they do."

is it the same as upping an original torrent. most definitely not.

the difference is; with the dvd upload you have to actually put a bit more effort into it.

to simply download a torrent of the original and reupload it without fixing a prob or altering it in some way you don't really have to do anything.

as for the skulls, i think they serve a purpose. i know i won't download from tpb without first seeing a skull. it's not perfect but doing it this way can save a newb pirate hours of time getting rid of infestations.

are tpb mods elite or do they act elitist. probably but i see nothing in wrong in it. most of them work hard. they take what they do seriously.
and they have to follow rules and guidelines.

I wouldn't say so. When I upload music I don't change the artist's name into "SidewaysDan". I give him credit for what he created, in that sense. I may not give him anything material but I do specify who created it. And I take credit for ripping it and uploading it and providing a good description.

However many uploaders can be torrent whores. There certainly is some very simple changing the file name or adding a .txt file going on..

The line starts to fade a bit when you dwell into other realms. For example, downloading something from RapidShare which you could not find on torrent and then categorizing it (e.g. artwork etc...) and then uploading it, I wouldn't consider torrent whoring. If the uploader states that he did not rip this, but it's safe, I would be glad to give him credit for sharing it (as many RS links get taken down) .
I have, in fact done this, as I could not find what I was looking for on torrent but once I had it from some dodgy website I upped it and shared it. Call me a torrent whore if you will, but I did say I was not the original uploader.

Sometimes it boils down to opinion, when things aren't very clear. However, I would say that just getting someone else's torrent (which they ripped and seeded) and uploading it under your own name (particularly with no mention of the original upper) is torrent whoring.

As far as Dublin loosing his skull I don't know either but he did have the other one for a reason, that reason must have been in line with the guide lines, as to why he lost it I don't see why. I've D/L lots of his torrents myself and I see alot of comments on them that are not deserved. I guess what I am saying is that I am leaning towards believing that it was taken away unjustly.

i have no idea. it's why i won't lean either way. if i were privvy to the goings on i'd lean but as it is i see two sides to the story. and if i'm totally honest i couldn't care less. (no offense dubs) i'm just a bit selfish and if it doesn't affect me then it doesn't affect me.

I see your point but I'm the exact opposite of it. Because it does not affect me...but it does affect me, when I perceive an injustice to anyone I have no choice but to speak up about it.
Who that may be holds no course with me. I'll take anyones part that I think has been wronged and will speak my mind about it. There but for the grace and those that live in glass houses come to mind.

the problem with extremezone is that he was giving out false info on his torrents and was also spamming other persons torrents linking to his own....
