Thank you, Aish. I think elsewhere, the term is tid-bit? It means, well, let's see. 'A dainty little piece; a piquant clipping from some publication' Hmm...That's my Nuttall's 1929 Dictionary. Morsel, perhaps is best. There used to be, may still be a paper of that name, which was to supply 'below-stairs' with the Society gossip. Not much change there, then.

I think it comes from the Icelandic, for anything small. A small horse appareently was known as a tit, a tit-mouse is a small creature, and presumably no-one had found a need for a 40JJ bra..
