why is it that everyone from airlines to the local coffeeshops are adding extras on the bill? from vat to out of state tax etc.
are there any charges you think are wrong. how would you like to see the prices arranged on particular things.
personally i think vat is the worst culprit. in the uk the rate is ridiculously high. why can't we just get taxed in our wage packets and have the vat scrapped.

some airlines are now charging to take a dump or have a drink of water. i find that unfair.
i find it unfair that the surcharges add up to more that a ticket should, i find it unfair that some airlines now charge for a child under two even it sits on a parents lap. i find it unfair that duty free shops charge more for chocolate and perfume and cigarettes than the high street. duty free just means "more profit for the airports" as for maintaining a profit, the truth is they wish to extend their profit in every and any way they can. some airlines even charge if you take 1 suite case of luggage with you where it used to be free, at the same time you pay a fuel surcharge and if you're on a no fly list you don't get a refund when they say you can't fly. and in the odd case where you do get a refund it cost you more to get it than it would if you just let it slide.
as for vat. if that's so the why do we also get taxed in our wage packets as well? why not just consumption tax?
the tip thing, when used is wrong, often the waiters and cooks see nothing of the money. so i agree if i wish to give a tip for good service it should be my choice.

i agree, we pay tax on what we earn, we get taxed duty on many goods and then pay a third tax VAT the actual percentage of the money we end up with from the money we earn is sometimes laughable. low wage earners are told they're out of the tax brackets and don't have to pay tax. yet they still have to pay tax on petrol tobacco and alcohol which they then have to pay vat on as well as paying separately for their retirement and healthcare vis national insurance stamps. we then have death duty, inheritance tax and a host of other taxes, we can't give our kids a larger present than a few grand because they will get taxed on it. why not have a fixed tax rate called vat for everyone and leave it at that. in answer to my own question we have to pay the government a gov that's so large as to be preposterous.
the courts could make enough to run themselves and the police with their hidden traffic cams can certainly make enough.
thing is, the tax still isn't enough for the usa or almost any other major gov in the world, they still have to borrow trillions to fund their silly little wars. their stupid reliance on oil and all the pomp and bollocks that goes in running for office.

you will have to pay for that later also
what i really can't handle is going into a bar or restaurant ,read the menu,1 beer is so much, then get the bill afterwards and it's at least 1/3 more than the original price, here they do it in hotels too,and it it really ads up

i know, in some countries it isn't law to put the vat on the price you see in the menu,
so you get to pay the 15 % or whatever it is, the 10 % surcharge and if you leave a tip for the waiter of 10% it;s like wtf.
why is it so dear to by stuff in duty free shops as well? perfumes cigs etc, when i smoked i thought i'd get someone 200 cigs at the airport to take home cos they'rer cheap in the philippines. they charged me twice as much as i would pay on the high street.
