Check out this cool new device
to alleviate the pain
Of a surgical surprise
Mothers pelvic region strains
Fetus stuck inside and cries
Quickly free that baby's brain
Before either patient dies
By motorized blades on a chain
Peanut butter honey banana sandwiches

14 September

metal combs and pears and chains
and wheels and racks and ropes
and sometimes, sure, a simple knife
will do, but what about a hollow
bull or maybe screws

or maybe glue one to an anchor
casting them to sea, maybe drag them
underneath a keel, maybe brick them
up inside a tomb, maybe beat them
simply with some whips

and all would pass with not even a scream,
claiming they had, for a favourite invention,
an intersection of two sticks
from which they'd rather hang

Air brakes.

People who aren’t technical
probably believe
that “air brakes” mean
air puts brakes ON to stop.

No.  Their genius is
air pressure keeps
brakes OFF
so if anything goes wrong
air escapes
and vehicle stops.

Now you understand
“fail safe.”

Like a wand
That grants you magic
And gives you the power to create—
No need to sew,
Or hammer,
Or knit.
Just a dab of hot glue
Will do the trick.
