Ow-oo

Why get wound
around the axle, hound?
The sound you’ve found
and met with a bound
was my coming around
to the pound
of aches after I downed
many whiskeys and drowned
my sorrows.  Unwound
I may be, and beclowned
you can see.  This will not redound
to my credit, they said it:
best look underground
where sovereigns abound
for where bank rates compound
Jack, you’ve suffered
a wound
finely tuned
your limbs are all pruned
you’re washed up, marooned
in September, they crooned,
out of luck,
harvest mooned.

No rhyming dictionaries or thesauri were harmed.

Well played, sir. Well played.

I particularly liked the misdirection of 'pound' - nicely done (not forgetting 'harvest mooned'.)

Couldn't help yourself with credit/said it? I understand. Smile

Best, Knot
