Bell Field, ND

The pandemic
is deemed over,
I'm still not
at their funerals.

St. Bernard's beautiful church
where a
a mural full of life lives
a bell beckons
in Belfeild, North Dakota.

I even played for the
long lived perishers.
A lifetime of mine ago..

Stan and Tillie prayed daily
knitted through generations
of their families love.

I remember
"road cray red"
reverent strife.

All the leathery
to humid faces
who loved them.

I only had two Grandparents.

Thinking of a night
my younger track star cousin
was a little baby maybe one.

Making her laugh
with card tricks.
Addicted to making
her smile.

Her laugh is comfort
in my mind.

Every time girls giggles
reflect my own.
I'll think about my cousins
and Tillie's too.

Playing the bass
Stan listens to my
four stringed lullaby.

"Play until you fall asleep"
Stan silently spoke to me.

North Dakota hand colored fields
of wheat, flowers, produce,
as if told in Psalm.

Everyday I walk
step by step,
like Stan a
smile wrangler
on the farm.

Family memory lives
through prayer chains
forever.
Only one thing is impossible for God: To find any sense in any copyright law on the planet.
