Hello members. I wanted to get input on any glitches you may have encountered on the site. Personally, I'm not a genius on a smartphone and do most things on my laptop. ( maybe why us older members stay) From time to time I come across some annoying blip and assume it's my fault. ( an annoying blip would never keep me away, but it might keep a newcomer from returning) The latest is when I try to reply to certain threads, my text gets lost somewhere in the middle of the OP I am quoting and I have to cut and paste it back at the end. . We've had a few conversations about keeping the site more accessible so any observations or suggestions would help us all catch up. Some of these conversations come up in the Mod forums but many of you are more technically gifted than us. Without throwing too much work on Addy, I think we could clean up the streets a little at a time. Also, anyone volunteering to be a "tech" Mod would likely be received a a lesser Messiah. Thanks for reading.

Mine does the text jumping thing as well, and I’m usually using my phone, so it’s not just your laptop.

The post count is only counting critique forum posts. Posts in non-critique forums aren’t counted as far as I know.

If you look at it from a Mod point of view, like if you were going to edit it, can you see it?

I’ve also had that happen with cut and paste. The pasted words don’t show up.

Thanks for the input guys. Maybe I can ask around mybb software forums what could be causing the glitches. I'll try to set aside time to update mybb to the newest versio , see if that makes a difference

No, sometimes they’re small. And sometimes they don’t show up at all.
I could also see your missing post when I hit reply. The quotes part showed up in the reply box. But then the post was blank when I posted it.

The glitches arent all of the same nature but in the case of Rowens' sewer post it wasnt appearing because the video was accidentally tagged Vimeo but the link was from Youtube. I went ahead and changed it
That doesnt explain why the text kept getting recopied or the other weird glitches from other members--  it doesnt account for why the replies get switched to the quote box, tjats just strange. Will get back to this, just dealing with a pet medical emergency right now

My mistake. The text doesn't switch to the quote box. Was just trying to illustrate it jumping up near the top of the thread in general.
Sorry for creating work for you Addy. I figured you would prefer one little issue at a time than have us wait until there are more. Little glitches don't bother me much but I'd hate for any frustration to be someone's first experience.

Nah, asking about stuff isn't "creating work", the glitches were popping up regardless so best to address them I'll investigate further, maybe there's a root cause explaining all the weird things happening in the thread/ quote boxes

Not in a long while. I haven't felt the compunction , not that my attempts were more than mediocre  I'm happy to leave it to those with the wit and talent
