(A poem from nearly 50 years ago for Tim, aka TqB, aka Poet)
Loneliness! it’s you again!
What brings you here?
You aren’t my friend.
I thought I left you years behind-
finally had you off my mind
but you’ve been hiding
out of sight, waiting
til the time was right. You slipped in
to my room tonight, and now
you step into the light.
Loneliness, you leave me be!
I don’t want your company.
You always bring your misery,
and I don’t need it mocking me.
Oh loneliness, I’ll lose you yet-
I’ll find a friend
and I’ll forget you. I’ll pretend
I never met you
loneliness
Loneliness! it’s you again!
What brings you here?
You aren’t my friend.
I thought I left you years behind-
finally had you off my mind
but you’ve been hiding
out of sight, waiting
til the time was right. You slipped in
to my room tonight, and now
you step into the light.
Loneliness, you leave me be!
I don’t want your company.
You always bring your misery,
and I don’t need it mocking me.
Oh loneliness, I’ll lose you yet-
I’ll find a friend
and I’ll forget you. I’ll pretend
I never met you
loneliness
