Intriguing - does the switch from first person singular to plural mean to include the sylphs in the burning need?  Or only to include thinkers with the original viewpoint voice?  Hoping this is a beach scene rather than a reference to full incineration.  And the title... as in "I bring not peace...?"

I'm simply standing in the sun. The Sylphs are part of the plural. They show up when I'm following a Warm Path. Overthinking, though, has them swarm and then they get unruly.

Sylphs correspond with Intellectual Activity, and the sharpness of Intellect is symbolized by a Sword. If one gets too sharp, the lead might fall out. To prevent this, sometimes you simply need to run with burning passions, and later cool down with calming waters of your grounded earth. The Sun is the Lamp of Conscience, so you don't do anything too stupid.

Diogenes carried around a lantern in broad daylight. He must have had a guilty conscience.

Conscience can never be guilty. So says the Wise.

Sometimes you need to lop off the peace before you lose your head.

There's a pun in that last bit somewhere. But I'm too hot to prune it out.
