If you ever want to time travel inside the poetry matrix (well, American, 1960s 1970s I’d guess), I recommend going to the link below and exploring some issues of little magazines that have been digitized.
After four years in Pigpen, I believe I read poetry more intelligently than I ever have. So I was approaching these poets with a pretty critical eye, but with mind wide open, and was really impressed. I sampled a dozen or so in an hour, out of three or four titles.

In the Subject just put "poetry". You get a big list, alphabetical (I never got out of the A's).
These were the Pigpen of their time.
