Hollow

Hollow

Chains clink down rusted track
carrying refuse and scrap--
cans piling somewhere.

Metal arms beat the walls;
some have gone silent.

The owners left and won't come back,
their echoes still bounce;

the heart taken.

Some of the inner vowel sounds and rhymes pay off with the word bounce. Things rattling inside the poem like the poem's a can or a truck or a poem about empty rattling.
