When ever one can justify it to one's self. That's when one can actually pull the trigger or do what ever it takes. Killing another human rarely needs an ok from anyone else. It's a personal thing. Some do it for money on a small scale and a smaller group do it for power on a larger scale. The rest argue over the fact of it being ok to do or not.

When they are threating to do harm to you and/or others.

Someone who kills/tortures others maliciously, basically someone who has lost their humanity... I have no qualms about putting down a person like that. It's not just about murderers for me. (Remember that man who locked his daughter up for decades and kept her as a sex slave? Yeah, I wouldn't miss him)
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

i think i agree.

people kill by accident but if they kill because they're inhuman then thats when i think it justified to kill another. i don't think that because we can justify it personally it's right. i think often on an individual level we become as addy says, less inhuman.

of course we'll always kill to protect our own or ourselves.

You can't view the world in black and white. Putting things in boxes (or categorising them in other words) is done by every human. But not every situation fits right into every box.

How do you decide if they are being threatening enough or how do you even know in some cases that they'll hurt anyone?

So does it need to be more than one, to get the death penalty, in your opinion?

Exactly the same with you, addy. Where do you set the boundary? Sure, even I agree (and we're not the only ones) that Joseph Fritz deserved the death penalty .

But what if it's just some other situation? We don't really know. And there is always a lot of pressure in courts and the wrong decision may take a man's life. If you made the law that you can only kill if he declared himself Guilty, everybody would turn Not-Guilty.

That's one of the main problems with the Death Penalty, in my opinion. You can't categorise every crime perfectly.

actually,i have to conclude that killing is never justified except maybe in a rage when you actually see your loved ones or others being slaughtered or tortured before your eyes.the rest would be rational killing which is never justified.the worst being going through a whole process of putting somebody to death as in capital punishment

in truth i don't think killing is justifiable.
that said sometimes it would wouldn't need justification.
as sj said.

if someone maliciously kills one of your kids etc.
i could kill the killer in a heart beat, same with an adult who molested my kids, in a heartbeat. i wouldn't have a need to justify it.

which means for me no killing of another can be justified.
it can however be understood in certain circumstances.

Those circumstances are called Silver Bullets, billy.
As a Third Week Moonchild, I can talk to you in the silver graces of the moon.
It's from those graces we carve the Bullets to slay the weremen and the Vampire Agents.
