Cliche cliche cliche
The more you say it
The less it means

I like this more the more I think about it. There's three cliches, the first is that a cliche has been said so many times that it doesn't mean as much as something more situational or personal. The second is how someone could say enough things are cliche, that it diminishes the impact of calling it cliche. Like on TikTok there is a person who starts his videos with 'everything is racist' and eventually your dulled to the subject. And the third is how saying something over and over again can trick your ear and sound weird like it's not a real word.

And then, the title, being 'cliche' is also incredibly cliche because eventually everyone tries a poem made out of cliches, I'm pretty sure it's a prompt in napm a few times.

So there, self congratulations are in order

This is probably the best poem I have read for a while. It's clever. Multilayered. Funny. I really like it. I am struggling right now to write anything, and this kind of stuff is really inspiring. Thanks.
