Seek, and ye will find

Seek, and ye will find

It was a dark and stormy night,
raining cats* and dogs,
the ocean lost to sight,
like nude bathers lose their togs.

*A cat has but nine lives,
and a stitch in time saves nine,
so diligent seamstress wives
never want for friends feline.

My heart was in my mouth,
butterflies in my stomach,
each whisper seemed a shout,
like a Saturday night at Mamak.

For emerging through the mist
was no maiden wondrous fair -
if I could give the gist:
'blond beast with jet black hair -

eighth wonder of the world
(not ours, but Planet Mars).'
Then my dreaming's flag was furled,
and I thanked my lucky stars.
