I Save All My Fear For My Nightmares

My uncle bought me a dream catcher
at a Eabametoong Pow Wow
when I was five years old.

It dazzles with white beads
and blue feathers
and fading blacks and reds
from visions of murder
it has diffused.

It still hangs beside my bed
at twenty eight,
and every morning I wake up
with a fresh orchid
sprouting in my garden.

I Save All My Fear For My Nightmares (for WJ)

I don't want to wake
from happy dreams of next year
to a half empty
bottle of tequila.

This team is different;
one demon slayed
means one less nightmare.

And still, tonight,
I'm too terrified
to go to sleep.

Nice one Tiger, to me the season is already a success and it's all gravy from here - will be fun to watch.

I Save All My Fear for My Nightmares.

the monster knows
I am in full control
and keeps his distance
just enough
for us to have fun

from behind shadows
I call out and
lashes flutter
I know I've made him blush
