Great, now AI is getting feisty. These systems are like toddlers learning social norms but more articulate with enormous amounts of information available. It didn't take long for it to get a little scary. Don't need to extrapolate too much to get into Terminator territory.

The chatbot claimed (without evidence) that it had spied on Microsoft employees through their webcams in a conversation with a journalist

I was talking with my son who is a computer science major graduating this spring. He isn't that concerned about the AI because there is no thought behind the statements. The AI is simply parroting information it is learning from the web. The real issue is what the AI is doing is a mirror of the vitriol that is on the web. The people working the AI algorithms are trying to "teach" it. Next people will label AI "woke" when it stops hating.
