Tiger suggested I make my own thread for all my loose-leaf poetry. I mainly want to post them here so I don't forget them. If any turn out to be good, I might move em' to get a critique, but this'll be my new base of operations now.
Thank me later.
The Wrong Medication
Numb tingling
in a bloodless body,
writhing and gasping,
lapping up frigid air.
Green eye buds from the darkness
staring down at me,
but before it can finish
the door opens.
Young Innocence
She caught the butterfly
and didn't know what to do after;
wings torn and flailing madly.
She plucked it from the net
and ran over to the creek,
behind the house,
chucking it into the water.
Love's gaze
Driven to stare
in time's stasis
watching you
tie your laces
It seems today, that all you see, is violence in movies and sex on tv
White people problems (inspired by rowens)
In a world where black men
held white men as slaves
it's unfortunate to know
that black men were still cooler.
Tsetse the fly
Tsetse tsetse
putting children to sleep
Tsetse tsetse
into their dreams she creeps
Tsetse tsetse
hyper then sobre
then coma,
her spawn takes over
Souvenir
I'm trapped in their gaze
but with a blink
they're gone-
still lingering.
They lean in for a kiss;
I give.
I won't see them in the morning,
but they'll be with me every night,
dangling from the mobile of women
that lull me to sleep.
Revelation smoothy
Ambrosia ripe on my corneas,
reaching out to pick it-
I pull out my eyes.
Revelation flowing forth
leaving behind a gash,
partially filled back up
by my pitcher of
remaining ambrosia.
The revelation persisting after,
but not for long.
(no title)
yellow eyes
on the roof
--black cat
caterwauling
blood trail
--daughter gone
in the fence
caught fur
- turns its head
Eternal bliss
On the knotted beach
castles built
smoothed over
into glass,
thin water
swept sea foam
into ribcages,
and the misty white sun
stretched out like an eye
draining all color
from the world.
Family dispersion
The land of the lost and lonely
was home to all rejects,
but some couldn't fit in.
They created their own lands,
and somewhere down the line
we all ended up alone again.
Thank me later.
