Balap Macaim Marpshland
stood stock-still on a Starbuck’s shelf.
Him and twenty others waiting
for the right parents to pick him up.
We did, his shiny brown button-eyes knew
we needed a child in our lives.

This is an irresistably sweet poem, but because it was written by you it still retains a certain hard wit. Rough-around-the-edges but yet cuddly, a bit like the author
"We believe that we invent symbols. The truth is that they invent us; we are their creatures, shaped by their hard, defining edges." - Gene Wolfe
