Tired and ill, so I'll post this early -- it's 1 AM NZ time rather than 12 MN Philippine time. Might also stick to this schedule for a bit.

Flood
All washed away.
Terracotta torn asunder,
all washed away.
The river overflowed today;
burst its banks beneath the thunder
took the village, towed it under.
All washed away.

Scary weather...
Is it ever going to end?
Scary weather!
Worse than living in the nether
world, the hurricanes and strong winds
brings tornados, heavy rains, and
scary weather.

The derecho
snuck up on skies that were so clear.
The derecho
roared through, cutting the day in two.
Wind struck like the point of a spear,
curiosity turned to fear
the derecho.

A year of Houston weather's
like living in the nether
world: ongoing covid streak,
an Arctic freeze for a week,
heat index reaches its peak,
the hurricane floods the creek,
chemical plant leaks, and reaks,
and I thought Seattle was bleak.

Drowned Subway Echoes
Cacophony–
Raised voices, rising wind, storm surge.
Cacophony,
Loud swear-words losing meaning flee
What thought began to mindless urge
For unity in frightened merge:
Cacophony.

Hail pecks metal
birch branches clawing to get inside.
Hail pecks metal;
men waiting for the storm to settle,
against the pounding landslide,
hope for new time to coincide.
Hail pecks metal.

Before I try my hand at this, I need to ask:
Is it Ron-de-let or Ron-de-lay? xD

barred from passing the holy gate,
now you repent and force your feet
to shun the Nile and blister, bleed,

I, Me, Me, Mine
In quarantine
we smoked our stuff, we drank our wine
in quarantine.
We scrolled to see where friends had been
and ultimately drew the line
at "you do you" and "I, me, mine"
in quarantine.

Embraced from inside
starts in the chest and flowers out,
embraced from inside
and we know we are stoned again.
In the wind, I am a grass blade
minting sunlight into euphoria,
embraced from inside.
