In the Retelling
Somewhere between
the icy propaganda
of dramatic license
and the home fire
of comic relief,
remarkable characters
enter and exit
the stage
lukewarm,
uncredited,
in suspension
with our disbelief.

I don't understand the title that well
perhaps it could be renamed to
'Microwave dinner'
which I feel is an appropriate analogy.

I like the general idea of the second half of the poem. The notion of remarkable characters entering and exiting, and the fact that disbelief is visually suspended, but I don't quite
get what the poem is trying to say. It's a bit too inaccessible, or maybe I'm being thick.
Or wait....I see semicircle's reference to a microwave dinner, so maybe this is obviously about sitting in front of the telly and savouring a Netflix buffet
Yes, it makes sense now. But I'd never have worked it out myself.
Why the 're' telling?

It might be better titled as "Extras" or even the recently learned term "Seat Fillers."
