SnailMail

the networks were down
and laundry seemed a prudent way
to pass the time

the sheets came out the dryer
warm as a womb and smelling of spring

and didn't I stretch out on the bed
with a scratch pad and pencil
and write you yet another love poem?

you know I did

message me when you get it

Hey Paul-

A fun one indeed.  Snail mail is becoming a foreign concept, yet sending actual mail, with actual handwriting, is always endearing.

Perhaps you should request a snail mail reply, although a message could take that form, I suppose.

I would be delighted to receive a love note in return, via snail mail; an otherwise blank page with just a lipstick kiss on it would be perfect.

Hi Tiger,
enjoyed the read.
Do you need the penultimate line (I think it would be funnier without)
and perhaps womb warm and smelling of spring ?

Best, Knot
