The Brand-Fry Effect

The Brand-Fry Effect

What if we and they
all took to Twitter
for nothing less
and nothing more
than the profound joy
of engaging
in meaningful debate
with the other Godfaced humans?

What if natural affection
played moderator?

Why is this not the case?

I think jealousy is the main culprit.

Some faces are more godly than others. Are so Gods come about.

GOD isn't the one who's jealous.

Expand on jealousy for me. I have alternate suspicions.

What comes to mind first?

Are you referring to Russell Brand and Stephen Fry?

A kind of tribalism, I guess. I think social media has presented a wonderful opportunity to be heard, without doing much for our ability to listen. More than ever our positions are demarcated and final, debate becomes an end unto itself and actual consensus is a utopian pipe dream only a poet could dream up.

I think the world could be perfect peace without jealousy.
We would realize the tyrants right away, and not be hypnotized.

We would realize the games and not play them.

Envy is rational. Jealousy isn't.

Jealousy is a negative love.
It involves hatred and desire, instead of love and desire.

This tribalism you talk about is the mind being processed with the machinery.

I don't listen. I don't use social media. I don't watch the news.

When you're walking down the street, you can see if something stupid is happening, and you refuse to add to it, maybe you do something to stop it.
That's it.

I feel that inequality is natural, and so jealousy is the most potent threat.

The primal threat of our form. Our condition.

The irrational results of natural inequality.

.........

Why do you have a position?
