#1
Upon opening this thread you have 1 hour to write a 4-8 line poem with 't' (tea, tee, -ty, etc).

Rules: none

Skill Level: subjective

Time Limit: negotiable

Go!

Meet the teacher

Your first day of second grade
In less than an hour you cried
Being with all your classmates
from all of last year's exploits.
You even wanted homework
To prepare for the first week.
It's cheesey to say I'm proud,
But it's Gouda to brie your dad!
Peanut butter honey banana sandwiches

T has two corners
(that means something I’m sure)
the Phoenicians marked it x
(That must mean even more).
It's a gibbet for twins
and a partial crucifix too
tongue colliding with gum
number twenty in our alphabet stew.

Thanks for this one, CRNDLSM. This was a simple but really flexible prompt. I must have written a dozen different ideas. Was fun to break the rules and ignore the time limit. I'm replying waaaaay past my 1 hour time limit because I couldn't quite decide which poem was silliest. I'm gonna post the one that most made me laugh at myself laughing at myself.

Before we took
our name back
from The Masters,
Jackie used to run
with the middle of the pack;

a handicap approaching zero.

Since the long overdue
introduction of our non-binary tees,
they've truly reinvented themself,

consistently coming in
well,
under par.

P.S. The most fun I had writing this came from trying to find any APP on earth that recognized "themself" as a word. Nope. Squiggly red line under it every time.  Hysterical  I don't imagine many College professors with the guts to mark it as a spelling mistake on a term paper.  Tongue

My magic word
I learned between Chokmah and Chesed,
Geburah and Binah
still seems much too subjective,
to post in such a place,
a world
where I'm so easily disgraced.
But taking the black brothers with my left
and Christ Jupiter in my right,
I'll say the word rhymes and starts
SILENTLY
with the
prompt of this plea.

OH MYSTERY!
No
the Word is Ti
