Trip to the Supermarket
#1
An oasis in a desert's sphere,
the neon glare
of strip lighting.
The processed snacks are tall palm trees,
and I've been walking
so long now,
ridden with more sores
than a harem captive.
The universe is cold.
I've left the house,
I've pressed EJECT,
and now I grasp the arm rests
as I die in the vaccum of space.

the palm tree metaphor,

the last 5 lines could be a short poem on there own, though they work well in this one.
