Isn't it time we buried god? I'm sick of him hanging around.
If there isn't a body, that's no surprise,
but let's just pretend that some holy ground
is where he met a fabled demise;
then we can get on with being good,
doing right things 'cause we KNOW we should,
not deluded by myth or by lies.

right.. instead of twisting the holy books till they´re good for justifying wars, we´d have to use political reasons (economic ones never make a good excuse).
humans are creative in making up all sorts of theories why we can´t live up to our annoying conscience.

My favorite thing about this is 'fabled demise' and 'by myth or by lies' because they stand out in tone from the rest. It's easily conversational until these two phrases making it a rhyming poem, even though it rhymes anyway. Or maybe it's my least favorite thing, no body to bury is pretty great
