Eye
Eye, jelly blank and pleading,
drag every inch of body through my face
and into the word,
into reincarnated flesh and bone—
into the word.
Approximately spherical organ,
green window in orbit,
turn my sins upside down
and pick the pulse out of my heart;
reflect me, not too clearly,
jelly-glass of insubstantial things;
and drown under the waves of light
that scull across your emerald ocean.
Eye, jelly blank and pleading,
drag every inch of body through my face
and into the word,
into reincarnated flesh and bone—
into the word.
Approximately spherical organ,
green window in orbit,
turn my sins upside down
and pick the pulse out of my heart;
reflect me, not too clearly,
jelly-glass of insubstantial things;
and drown under the waves of light
that scull across your emerald ocean.
