but as with China
there's always the option
of laughing at
its ultimate absurdity.

Then the screen scrolled up to say

    Virus

and all was clear
above the fold.  Yes,
this time remember
to laugh it
right off the stage.

You're probably right.  The explanation doesn't really add anything.

Perhaps I could add something about the potential of Australia... it seems so close on the map, just around that lower right-hand corner, knowing the edges must connect somehow.  But the north-south nearness is an illusion caused by spreading the middle out to equalize areas.
