Duck

You keep going out for something else,
something other than a duck;
but, you keep coming back with a duck.

And you can't teach the children anything,
other than:
get used to ducks,
cos' that's all you'll ever get.

I can't tell if you're using "duck" as a substitute for "chick," or using duck as a way of saying that the speaker is not getting younger foul but rather older and is dissatisfied with that.

Either way, I find it funny, so mission accomplished.

(would make more sense if the entirety of the comic is read, but yeah)

yeah, duck as duck, a sort of bird of innocence
or extra deliciousness,

duck as euphemism for chick,

or duck as duck! a barrel bomb,

and it all works out. it's that multiplicity of meanings that really makes this click, i agree.

* -- also duck as reference to duck dynasty? which would....yeah, would quack me up, dammit mercedes.

Since you really mean 'fuck', I think L3 should be "coming back being ducked"

i don't "really mean fuck". but, if that's what you think it means, then it's yours to play with.

I read this as, you can plan your life all you like but in the end you simply get whatever hand fate deals you and it isn't always what you set out to get, and that we should teach our children to prepared for disappointment. It it like a micro parable, like "Well son, don't you know that everyone sets out to get a swan, but more often than not they just come back with a duck." I love it. Big Grin
