This is fun, is it twice damned because the first three is one experience being damned, then making checks to the people is the second time?

It was supposed to be a 'damned if you do and damned if you don't' situation, but maybe it's more of a 'can't live with it can't live without it' situation. But, I like your interpretation too.

It's a found poem from the fine print of an insurance statement.

I like the turn in the poem, after the second stanza, and the sense of submitting that I get from the last. Also interesting is how that final stanza moves away from involvement, from subject to object, almost. Found poems are a lot of fun!
