deleting posts

stop doing it

simply because you don't like what you wrote. please, at least think about the post before posting it. the mods are getting sick of seeing and dealing with a shitload of deleted posts that could have been thought about for 1 extra minute. we're fine when it's done now and again but it's becoming too commonplace. take into mind that they have to check every post from every newb untill 3 have abeen passed deleted emails just clutter the place up with shit. ella and quixi are going dizzy/ admin

I've never seen anywhere near this volume. And frankly, if you're deleting posts you wrote in the Pig's Arse then you're definitely not using that forum right!

I see two things happening -- a fear of offending people and the development of cliques. These always go together. I can't operate in that kind of environment and neither can a lot of the members who used to be regular posters here and have "disappeared". They haven't evaporated.

I love this site. It used to be unique in that people could take their arguments into the Sewer or the Pig's Arse, where it's illegal* to take offense, hashing it out and then coming back into the main domain breathing more clearly. There were no eggshells to walk on. One of the boasts that we could make about this place was that we didn't have precious poets demanding that everyone love them -- but I'm not sure that's still true.

So. Stop deleting, stop making sock puppets, be yourselves. You never know: that might actually work once in a while.

does anyone else feel like deleting everything they've ever posted? it can't just be me? mods are the boss. . . are they? i mean, an 8 or 9 circle jerk sounds fun to me. . .

Yeah, and who doesn't want to be free?

Trouble is, all this sensitivity is making the place feel less free.  We used to have a lot of pretty exuberant members who've simply given up, because it's no fun if you have to deal with people going on about how offended they are all the time.

Personally, I don't have the energy to second guess everything I write in case it's going to upset someone.  Regular members might not feel that constraint, I suppose, although a lot have indicated that they do.  It's easier to just not bother saying anything, because vanilla is not always our favourite flavour.

Being free doesn't mean shitting on someone's dining room table, that's just too self-centered to earn an invitation back. But I guess anyone can be as lonely as they choose to be. >Big Grin<

That's one in a row! Hysterical Hysterical Hysterical

I'm just kidding. I delete things all the time. Honestly, I had no idea the deleting was such a hassle for the mods. I just didn't know. Problem is, I'm a little bit fiery and I don't have wonderful impulse control, so sometimes I say things that I regret 1, 10, 148 minutes later and I delete because (contrary to popular opinion) I'm (usually) not trying to start shit up. So, I hear you billy and I will try to just close the computer if I feel an impulsive comment coming on. And I will try to leave up all of my inanely stupid crits, no matter how idiotic they make me look Big Grin

We would rather honestly fiery and occasionally offensive to censored and artificial-seeming any day. Please.

The only posts i've ever deleted were ones where i was telling a mod to suck a dick... and even then i only deleted them for plausible deniability.

Also, sometimes you know you're just being a cunt.. i delete posts when i know i'm begin a huge massive cunt. Which is quite a bit, so sorry if i delete too many posts.

you deleted en mass because of personal reasons. we're talking about giving feedback then deleting the post after it's been seen.

they'll always be mass deleters and that's something we can accept. and in your case we weren't the boss, in the case of sock puppets and arbitrary. deletions we are. and circle jerking is allowed in the pig's arse Wink

as long as yu don't attack the poet in the feedback forums it's okay. if you chat shit in a place it shouldn't happen a mod will speak up, we don't ban for impulsive comments unless they're hateful so please be a little bit fiery.

again, we don't mind as much if it's a rare delete by a member. often though it's daily and more than one. but thanks,

Leanne made a point, we don't want to be cliquie {a new word} it's why we ask members not to post feedback referencing other's feedback in a thread unless it's to agree or reinforce a point. to openly disagree with other feedback in a poetry thread creates the clique environment. in the pig's arse; rant and rail as much as you want. keep the lovey dovey stuff to pm and the pigs bum please.

one reason is that as soon as you say "i don't agree with what x said" you create an enemy who will bite your arse at some later date. we don't want arse biting outside the pig's arse.
