I 3Dprinted the vase, got some ws2812b LEDs, and an adafruit trinket and this is what I came up with.

I like the look of the vase, although I prefer my vases to put the focus on the flowers, thank you very much -- and I'm not sure how cool LEDs stay, so I'm not sure if those flowers will live as long.

That is really cool! I bet you could sell vases like that as the centerpieces for wedding and other types of receptions. If you are worried about it stealing the show from the flowers, you could always print up some glowing flowers ... right? I don't really understand how 3-D printers work ... it sounds like magic to me. Anyway, well done.

The flowers are fake ... I did attach a glass vase to the center of the plastic face, so if someone wanted to use real ones they could. I doubt the lights would affect the flowers.

Neat! Having just finished reading (and not understanding) "Hide in Plain Sight 6: Why Three Dimensions?" - was struck by the similarity of your vase (or, strictly speaking, the picture of it) to a purported projection or condensation of multi-dimensional space into two dimensions.

Sorry, purchase already genetically engineered glow in the dark flowers: hooray for science! Fuck anyone who says no to GMOs, not understanding that the very act of domestication is in fact genetic engineering, and that tons of people are dying of malnutrition right now and keeping naturally occurring species of plant is easy (and it's not like anyone's complaining at how not-ubiquitous natural corn and banana is)! http://www.cbsnews.com/news/genetic-engi...rk-plants/

I sell prints on 3dhubs and this print would cost about $30 to get printed from me... The plastic probably costs me between 4-7 bucks. The LEDs and associated hardware probably cost me another 25... If I was selling this id need $100 to make it with my time...
