As the long years crept on and on,
diminished returns of his encephalon!

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

*rubs "encephalon" in frustration*

Also, this reminds me, *begins elaborating on what he'd learned in his comparative vertebrate anatomy class*

Thanks for the comments.

Just in case you don't know (or for anyone else), the word is from dictionary.com "Word of the Day". One takes the word of the day and makes a short poem of it; preferably metered (or accentual verse) and rhyming, but rhyming for sure. Of course if one wants to make it more complex that's OK also. I started writing these several years ago. Give it a try. Helps overcome writer's block. Smile
