To get an idea of what mainstream published poetry looks like, would I be better off reading the New Yorker or the Poetry Review of the Poetey Soc of the U.K.?
From what I could see of it online, the NY was rather full of the trite bombastic.

The New Yorker makes me vomit. So yeah, that's probably the most mainstream. Why would you want to support that derivative tripe?

Thanks, Leanne and JM. I was going to subscribe to the digital edition of the Poetry Review, because it said that it was the 'world's finest poetry quarterly' and the cover design suggested funeral flowers. Very dignified and dead empire.
