Tam: A Dim Fin Min
#1
Tam: A Dim Fin Min
(a song to be sung after alcohol has been ingested)

Chorus:
A dim fin min, he was he was,
a dim fin min he was,
but 'e moved from the country
to the town
and we think we disagree, agree
yes we think we disagree.

                       I
Oh Tam he'd stop by for a dram
and for a chat or too,
yes he'd take your ear
and talk it off,
yes, that is what he'd do.

                       II
Yet now he's moved to the town
he's no busy bee,
we hear he really gets around
but you couldn't prove it by me'e
nah couldn't prove it by me.

                    III
Now it's sad, so sad, yes it's so, so sad
he's rarely at the  pen,
bringing wit and unhappiness to the newbs
but joy to his friends
his friends
and I am one of them, yes, I am one of them!

Every mushroom loves to be treated the same way -
Keep them in the dark and feed them shit.

On the off chance that there is slanted reference to me in this piece-and I would be suitably flattered- I feel I cannot give it the critique it deserves as I have a vested interest. I, do, however, rather like the dim fin min reference even though diallectually I am at sea; suffice to say that Scottish rendition of man is mon.
Diallectually I am at sea but geographically I am in land by six miles or so...very, very rural.
I have not gone away in any sense.
Thanks dale.
Best,

Actually it is built upon the bones of the early American folk/bar song. " dim fin min" is obviously dialect, mostly conjured from old TV shows, meaning damn, fine man. I find the " dim fin min" much more interesting and one never knows if one will actually be able to sing it if one has been self lubricating, thus making a sad occasion into a happy one.

PS

...and yes it is for you Tom, no need to be coy.
